Investing in local communities

Investing in local communities

We believe in supporting the communities in which we do business. We do this through building long-term relationships with charitable and cultural partners with the aim of helping the elderly from socially deprived groups.

Our community investment programs aim to improve the quality of life for people in the communities where we operate. Cumulatively, these programs are making a positive difference around the world.

JTI's community investment projects in Georgia cover two main directions: Arts & culture and people.

People

Caritas Georgia is our long-term partner. Under this collaboration, we support three projects on an annual basis.

Humanitarian Canteen in Tbilisi - This project aims to enhance the well-being of individuals in need by providing them with nourishing hot meals. Given that many project participants have health concerns, the staff at the humanitarian canteen strive to design menus that promote health and well-being. The canteen serves hot meals to 250 individuals five times a week. Additionally, if a project participant faces health-related challenges preventing them from visiting the canteen, they are supplied with a hot meal at their place of residence.

Day Care Center for the Elderly "Harmony" - the objective of this project is to enhance the quality of life for individuals aged 55 and above by addressing their fundamental needs and facilitating social reintegration. "Harmony" day center offers social services tailored to the needs of single, disabled, and socially vulnerable individuals over 55 years old. It fosters a welcoming environment, providing three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks). The center's daily schedule encompasses a variety of physical and mental activities, including different therapy sessions, effective communication workshops, sports activities, entertainment, educational events, and excursions.
Additionally, the center is equipped with new presses, computers, and musical instruments. Nurse, doctor, and specialized guest consultations are available. The project's interdisciplinary team collaborates to enhance the quality of life for center members and educates them on active living and healthy aging practices.

Home Care Program - The home care program implies medical, rehabilitation, and psychological services that are provided to 694 beneficiaries to stabilize their health at home. JTI's support is used to purchase a yearly supply of essential hygiene and medical products for bedridden beneficiaries.

Culture

We believe that art and culture play significant roles in enhancing people's well-being. This conviction drives our support for impactful projects aimed at making art accessible to many and thereby positively influencing their lives.

Tbilisi International Theatre of Festival - Since 2011, we have supported one of the leading national theatres and festivals in Georgia.

Theatre 42 - In 2024, we began supporting Theatre 42, which opened its doors in September 2023. Its repertoire boasts a unique fusion of rich historical heritage and modern global trends, producing work that is distinguished by its high artistic value.
