Smoking manners for harmony and coexistence

Smoking manners for harmony and coexistence

Our Smoking Manners campaign is an initiative designed to help smokers and nonsmokers to coexist and respect each other. The campaign has been introduced in many countries around the world since it was launched by our parent company JT (Japan Tobacco) some 30 years ago. In Korea, we have launched Smoking Manners campaigns in partnership with several organizations. Since becoming an official partner of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in 2011, we have taken the Smoking Manners Campaign to festival-goers by providing a special smoking lounge.

JTI Smoking Lounge

Since October 2011, our smoking lounge has been an integral part of BIFF. It was a gift for both smokers and nonsmokers: Smokers can enjoy the view and smoke without having to worry about disturbing others, and nonsmokers can enjoy the festival free from cigarette smoke.

JTI’s smoking lounge was popular among visitors from both Korea and abroad, who saw it as a unique attraction of the film festival.

Thanks to the bright and beautifully designed JTI smoking lounge, non-smokers like me were able to enjoy clean air on Haeundae Beach.

A symbol of care

We produce and distribute free-of-charge portable ashtrays to smokers, to help them dispose of their cigarette litter in an environmentally-friendly way. Our campaign is generating results: JTI’s portable ashtray is fast becoming a symbol of care for harmony and coexistence between smokers and nonsmokers.
